America’s oldest brewing school, Siebel Institute of Technology, founded in 1872 in Chicago, is relocating to Montreal, Qué., on Jan. 1, 2026. The institute will set up at 3035 rue Sainte-Catherine E, near the site of Molson’s original brewery. It will co-locate with Lallemand’s new Baking Academy and Training Facility.

The move is driven by rising operational costs, visa challenges for its largely international student body and evolving industry dynamics. Siebel will continue to offer both campus and online programs from its new Montreal location.
